A Good Love
Way back, I had a child cousin in one other land.
She spoke, however not one phrase did we’ve got in frequent,
but there was nothing we didn’t perceive.
She would sit upon my lap for hours.
I can nonetheless really feel her pudgy arms wrapped round my neck,
rubbery taut like a balloon.
How protected I felt.
Perhaps , too, how little phrases matter
when the eyes, the tone, inform all.
My mom, a teen, cared for her mom, a child,
a few years earlier than.
Did one thing move right down to us, I’m wondering?
And after I left, a gorge of grief got here.
The gorge now only a tiny drawstring sack,
open now and spilling,

My child cousin is 30 now.
Right here and never right here. How can that be?
Nostalgia
A frayed, historic blanket. Its gentle, free threads tucked into crevices darkened by time. Their existence unnoticed till they’re tugged—hardly, softly.
You can’t return, they are saying. But we dwell a lot of our lives in our illusory previous.
It’s a e book that glows inside us when held, although the story is lengthy forgotten.

We Are the Sky
How are we not the sky?

How are we not the rain?
